The Mitchell, located in historic downtown Fuquay-Varina, NC, now offers commercial flex space for rent or lease. A total renovation of the 11,250 sf building is now complete and ready for retail / restaurant tenants in this thriving small town just south of Raleigh and an easy distance from Research Triangle Park, Durham, Chapel Hill and Fayetteville.

The community of Fuquay-Varina is experiencing rapid growth and an increased demand for shopping and dining opportunities. The goal for the revitalized Mitchell is to restore a former icon of the town's history; bring new energy, business and foot traffic to the historic core; and take advantage of 21st century renewable energy technology.

Built in 1946 by Joseph 'Mack' Mitchell, the building was known then as Mitchell Chevrolet. It was the first Chevy dealership in a thriving post-war southern Wake County. The new owners, in collaboration with the Mitchell family have chosen to call the building The Mitchell.

The exterior façade looks now as it did back in 1946, and many other aspects of the building's history have been retained and emphasized, including the unique bow-string roof system, steel trusses fabricated by Bethlehem Steel Corp, and old beam pockets built into interior brick walls. Vintage photos of the building and its history are to be enlarged and mounted in the common areas, and there is an effort underway to replicate the original 1946 12-foot neon sign that once towered over the corner of the building.
